Fools who fell for propaganda. The reason why the western media keeps reporting on Russian casualties and failures is because they want the Russians to seem militarily incompetent so the public will openly support military intervention believing it will be a turkey shoot. Then there are all these armchair generals and keyboard warriors on social media misleading everyone with their ill-informed opinion based on said propaganda. The reality seems to be the Russians went into Ukraine believing there wouldn't be much resistance and Ukrainian ground forces would collapse at the sight of Russian armor and ordnance but the U.S. gov't and some other NATO member states gave Ukraine wonder weapons that they normally would not have had access to. This has turned a would be military operation into a war of attrition and the west just keeps funneling weapons into Ukraine as more Russian divisions build up along the border. All these foreign fighters are getting to Ukraine thinking this would be just like their former deployments fighting dune coons in third world shitholes and realizing it is much more akin to the eastern front during WWII. They don't have the support they've become accustomed to. Their ain't no FISTers or FOBs in Ukraine. The situation seems hopeless and they are unwilling to die for a cause they don't truly believe in. Most are just there to larp online or to have clout for actually killing a commie for muh freedumbs. So they are returning home or surrendering to Russian troops when the situation becomes dire instead of enduring hardships and misfortune like an actual patriot would. What most are not seeing is the maneuver warfare being employed by the Russians which is going to win them the war. Eventually, the Russians will strike at a key point and the entire Ukrainian line will collapse causing the defenders to be cut off and forced to surrender. Light infantry can't effectively counter an advancing armored spearhead. Ukraine may win some skirmishes against convoys and tank columns as we've seen but coordinated armor formations are another thing entirely. Defenders can shoot and scoot but ultimately their positions will be overrun and encircled and bombed into oblivion. All this shit about the Russians not having air superiority yet Ukrainians are begging for hand me down s-300s and a no-fly zone because their manpads can't do shit to cruise missiles and high altitude bombing. It's all a farce by the media and in the past, I would've said I can't wait for reality to set in when Russia ultimately wins the war but it will most likely be memory holed and upstaged by some other orchestrated event for npcs to consume and some poor anon will be on Wikipedia years later and find out Ukraine actually lost the war and be completely dumbfounded but will probably just chalk it up to the Mandela effect.
