I think I know what the Ash is doing. She's culling the herd. She's pretty good with makeup so she made herself look like that and added some padding under her clothes. That way she gets rid of all who only like her on a superficial basis. She is then left with those who admire her for her charm, charisma, personality,talent and sense of humor.
