That's a start.
Images are stored in the db, when an image is uploaded and is already there in the db it doesn't get really uploaded, it just points to the place in the db where it's already present. So no images lost, only probably old ones and corrupted.
If you open up the saved thread you will find empty images, but they can be opened. Try it.
Maybe with a download manager everything can be dl-t in bulk.
