I like heroic songs more than mehter which are written during Committee of Union and Progress rule. Original mehters are destroyed during abolishion of Jannissary corps, the sultan just brought cannons and started to blast the Jannissary headquarters so not much survived. Committee of Union and Progress written those to instill nationalistic fervour.

These folk songs are original homever, it's truly something from us rather than an attempt to reintrepret the history. The singer on the video is not even a right winger but a social democrat, which shows how it represents the people in general rather than a clique, as heroic songs should be.
