> What's in a name?
Was wondering that myself...why killing 8chan it matters to Brennan. He's a strange guy, might have some attachment to 8chan name (or belief around what it means to use it).Maybe it's sorta like his "baby." He does seem to think he's won something by killing it off. Funny--hard to imagine that "branding" would matter much to anons.

From a more metaphysical standpoint, it could be that, whatever hotwheels' thinking, it's objectively time to change the name to give birth to something new. Being down for two months IS like a kind of death. Time to be reborn (as PhoenixChan??)
