After 70 AD, the Jews and the Hebrews fled from the levant and dispersed throughout the world. Hebrewism perished, while Judaism survived. It is a hot topic today on whether Hebrewism is really dead or not. It is, in my viewpoint. However, many people such as various Semites in Ethiopia, a group of African descended Americans that call themselves 'Black Hebrew Israelites' are calling for a revival of Hebrewism, and to wage war with Judaism once again like they used to. Further, they claim to be descendants of Semites that practised Hebrewism that were thwarted by the Jews and other nations. Hebrewism is not a practised religion today, but they are calling for a revival of it. Some claim Hebrewism is practised still by some Semites in Ethiopia, Southern Africa, and Nigeria, notably the Igbo.

As for the living Judaism, the religion has always been alive and well even after the collapse of Jerusalem. They were an extreme minority in all countries, but they survived. One famous example of the Jews gaining much power after the fall of Jerusalem is in the Caucasus, the Jews there formed what is known as the Khazarian empire.
