can someone help me understand the process behind having a thread deleted from 4chan?

For example, let's say I created a thread on r9k and I made a mistake and really shouldn't have made this thread at all but now it exists. 
But then my significant other is going out and making threats against people and can't see how those threats will literally be the reason they become single. 

The most practical solution is to delete the thread on r9k, right? How does one do so and how would I get my significant other to stop acting like a fuckin' baby when someone tried having a civil conversation. 

I mean, my s/o's actions are the reason this all happened and an immaculate email would never have crossed my dad's desk, if he hadn't been so damned impaulsive. I lied the first time and was able to have any claims dismissed but it's much harder when the videos and pictures are included that detail why Im scarring myself and posting myself naked while punching myself in the face.
