Y'know, our senses evolved for survival in such a narrow band.'Consciousness' is just this low-resolution approximation created by our brain - useful for avoiding saber-tooth tigers but it doesn't gracefully update. It shatters.
Suicide may be brought about by ontological instability.
Imagine discovering that the categories you rely on - life, death, time, identity, matter, causality - are only these 'approximations', that your senses evolved to navigate a tiny slice of reality and that beyond that slice lies something incomprehensible. Continued existence can become psychologically impossible because the mind depends on a stable model of the world. Some people may realise they're not aware of everything that's happening to them and prefer death rather than live with the knowledge.
