It's still irrelevant and she wasn't a child anymore. You're wrong in assuming the ending she had wasn't what was most likely. When I last talked to her when she was 17 about why she didn't leave Marc Linden, she described herself as a statistic. That x amount of people always return to their abusers. I don't believe Marc was abusing her, (she was telling me these things because she loves sympathy while putting others down in the process) but I know she thrived off of encouraging the kind of toxic relationships like she had with him full of conflict. If not murdered, she would've been severely beaten at least once due to what she was doing and would keep doing it because people like you would be defending her constantly.
