If you want to advance a standard, you must be prepared to answer such edge cases. This is the responsibility of one who defines a standard. I have written technical standards for software, and phrasing them in such a way as to capture edge cases is an art, both conceptual and literate. You are not doing well on either count.

You continue only to repeat that you want an open-and-shut statement, but you use imprecise words and fail to provide example text. When shown text that implements your standard, you reject it and demand something less precise. This is a very unpersuasive and unviable position.
