based, i'm not much younger than you but it's been 25 ears since i've caught an episode on TV as well. i was at a jobsite doing demolition a few years back, probably about 10 years ago and i went into a locker room for office staff of about 20 years before that and all the lockers were covered in simpsons stickers that said things like "doh" and "eat my shorts". the old gen xers of the 90s really loved the simpsons that's for sure. sad it sill exists in a way
