The base is a leek mirepoix, no herbs, no garlic. Then fried bacon, butter, the potatoes were riced.
It's a crowd pleaser but at 50c to a dollar per serve it's cheap so you can see why pubs love it.
But somehow it's still poor value, because the dairy and potatoes are both fairly worthless nutritionally.
The beans are only there because I can't afford meat this week. Again.
Could it be because I made $20 worth of mashed potato? Maybe.
