There is more supply than demand for ebikes at the moment and stock is being liquidated. There are insane deals at the moment, but you are still going to have to spend a couple of grand for a good shimano or bosch middrive, everything else is trash

most people cheap out and waste their money on a piece of shit that they regret, if they spent a bit more they could have had something nice that lasts 

dont think you are going to get some magic deal under a grand....
