I wonder how much of a health hazard the lead in paint actually is.
Maybe leaded paint is a bit too lasting and don't fit into planned obsolescence. The market needs paints that needed to be reapplied every 5 years minimum. A paint that keeps 10+ years is bad for business.
I don't doubt that lead is poisonous, and that the paint is poisonous. It's just how much of it actually effects anything?
Do they overstate the danger to push less harmful, but more importantly less resistant paints?
