it was OK for the most part the GM kind of had a problem with the character usually str users tend to have a bad rep even though I didn't want to make my character edgy or unlikable the GM assumed my character would be apathetic and arrogant even though I repeated multiple times he wasn't apathetic or argumentative, he was tired and weary of being like that and he wanted to settle down and go more towards the academic and alchemist route. and be intouch with his sense of humanity. Maybe the GM is weary of people who are self inserts but it gives me mixed signals. Especially when he said he doesnt want to force people to remain on a class but also shifted the character development from being a magus because of his tiredness of weilding a sword mindlessly, towards external insecurities of what other people say about him, and tries to lean my character to remain as a str user. Idk it kind of gets to me because I was getting stern words for something that wasn't my intention and it really pierced into me. Or maybe I take things too personally. I didn't want to start fights so I sort of agreed to certain suggestions on the character creation unless it was a major change in the characters identity. Maybe I'm over thinking this. Anyone else had these problems first time with dnd? Or maybe he sensed that my character was going to take the selfish route later on? idk.
