In Gnostic theology, the Demiurge (often named Yaldabaoth) is the "false creator" of the physical universe, an arrogant, blind, or ignorant deity. Exposing the Demiurge means unmasking the material world as an illusion and revealing the true, supreme spiritual God (the Monad) that lies beyond this trapped realm.
