Ginger tea is good for health and very tasty. I often put fresh sliced ginger root in my green tea too, with some honey.

What is the purpose drinking beer without alcohol, or coffee without caffeine? It's like saying "I'll smoke a cigarette without nicotine!" None of that is good for you either way so you might as well use them for the intended purposes if you care to indulge in unhealthy habits. It's the reason I pass up beer and go strait to the booze, at least I know what I'm putting in me and it does the job as intended lol.

UuummMMM cuz I like it?? I like to drink decaf coffee after dindin. Caffeine would make it hard to sleep and I already have sleep issues. Sometimes I want a beer but don't want the alcohol, or I feel like drinking liquor too and don't want to get too drunk. Beer enhances a lot of foods IMO and it's convenient to have some non-alc kinds around. It actually goes awesome with a lot of breakfast foods like fried eggs or sausage.

Try taking some liquid melatonin supplement to get to sleep. You can put a few drops in your tea and you won't taste it, although it works best if you simply put it under your tongue for a minute. Melatonin is naturally produced in the brain while you sleep, a lack of melatonin in your system can cause sleep deprivation which you may be experiencing. It takes around 45 minutes to kick in but you have to be laying down for it to do any good. The less digital screens and light in your environment the better it works.
If it's not melatonin deficiency then lack of sleep could be caused by various other conditions: too much stress (cortisol), alcoholism or drug dependency, or simply too much electromagnetic radiation and in that case you need to toss your cellphone into another room, turn off your modem or hot spots, turn off the TV, turn off all the lights and simply sleep without electronics and wifi blasting electromagnetic radiation. I've tried melatonin in the past but it didn't work. I take diphenhydramine now when I have work the next morning, and it helps somewhat but I don't want to rely on it long-term. I've always had insomnia and don't think I have a normal 24hr circadian rhythm.

I am very sorry to hear that. I don't know how you find the will to keep living but I do hope the best for you in the future.
I too feel like my brain is decaying sometimes but that's because I'm an alcoholic and I don't have the will power to stop drinking whiskey almost every night. The most ironic part is I don't have it so bad, my life is pretty damn comfy but I just can't kick the addiction no matter how many times I try. I guess everyone has their share of personal problems to deal with in life.

Not a big fan of rye myself, but I've drank it before. I prefer blended whiskey most of the time. On special occasions, typically social events, I'll buy a single malt scotch for me and company. Otherwise I do like making myself old fashions from time to time, I have a friend who is a bartender who taught me how to make them, very tasty and since I add 3oz of whiskey per drink it keeps me pretty buzzed for the night.

I like rye whiskey because it's so strong it just cuts through everything else on your palate. I love the spiciness and intense flavor of it.

Instant ramen is probably my greatest dietary vice. It's so damn good tho – ramen broth is legit like a narcotic to me. I usually add vegetables and spices to it. I cook pretty often but don't have time to cook every meal. I don't really eat any junk food besides instant ramen. It's hard to beat the price, convenience, and versatility of it.
And yeah I usually try to sleep in on Saturdays to catch up on my sleep debt :/

I spent the last weekend drinking with friends and we all pigged out on good authentic German food: bratwursts and sauerkraut, spaetzle (egg noodles) with bacon and beef gravy, schnitzel (breaded pork), a delicious German onion pie, German potato salad, etc. Got wasted drunk a couple nights, we all did. Plenty of oktoberfest beers and hard liquor was being passed around. I'll admit I drank too much one night (half a bottle of bourbon and some single malt scotch until 3 AM which is one reason I woke up a bit sick). Aspirin helped but likely not very good for my liver either. I have to tend back to my yard work to help me burn off some of the weight I must have gained but whatever, it's not like I have that much fun all the time.
Slept for 2 hours last night. I woke up in the night with tummy pain, and I felt awful in the morning. Yeah, I know I'm really dumb :/
I nearly finished that 1.5L bottle of wine because I am an idiot. I'm remembering now why I used to avoid buying these large wine bottles – it takes too much self-control to not finish it! At least with a regular bottle I can thoughtlessly finish it and still be fine in the morning.

I used to make homemade schnitzel pretty often actually. With veal and chicken too. It's simple to make but it creates a hugeeee mess xD
I liked to add hot spices to the breading so it would be a spicy schnitzel! So good. I kinda want to make it again but tbh it's so high-effort I'd rather just go to a cheap restaurant for it.
But yah, bratwurst with sauerkraut is the best! It makes for really good street food tbh.
