> I'm not exactly sure what you mean by artificial
Do you sincerely believe their bond is because they really admire the work they both do? Both cosplayers and streamers, yes, but does that erase ulterior motives like sculpting images. A gameplan to promote their partnership to remove, possible forcibly memory hole past controversies (of both sides). As far as I'm concerned, the story goes that bonbi started streaming, emiru comes into the chat to help moderate and set her donations and overlay up etc (after the stream) and now they're best friends who release collaboration tiktoks together and have absolutely NO bad to say. And as a realist, can such perfect relationships actually exist when bonbi is a tremendously troubled individual? A little skeptical here.
> I find it understandable that she doesn't want publicly talk about bonbi's situation, even if it would be the right thing to do.
So do I. But without action, bonbi will continue her path around the circle.
> I see emiru as a chance for her to realize what kind of situation she is in
But she's been encouraging it ever since they met. I am no radical to say that 'silence is violence (endorsement)' but I am rational to deduce that Emiru is aware, and even acknowledges it as a bad thing to some extent (Soupi DMs) of the noncing but is choosing to neglect it... for what? Delay? What's her gameplan for that?
> even if it might take a while
And do you have a specific time span until you start searching for other methods? What if Bonbi becomes too sucked into her psychological kidnapper... Now what? If there ever was a time to act, it would be now. Otherwise, it may be just too late in a years time. That patreon income will stack up.
> Why do you want to punish her?
> No, but the fact that she's a grooming victim kind of does
Same reason that I treat her as an individual. Absolving her of all responsibility is awfully patronising. To what level do her actions have to go to before it just becomes Seth's?
I despise going down the route where we presume he is some mastermind behind the scenes puppeteering his victim like it's child's play (hehehe). That's a whole another discussion.
But anyways, the question is whether the course of justice should be to rehabilitate her or punish her. Now, perhaps if you went into detail about that rehabilitation process, then I might change my mind. And let's just presume her being of a victim incurs she carries no responsibilities for her actions, how do we help her specifically? You want a psychologist or social worker to come down and evaluate her? Or perhaps another hiatus! What is the exact course of help that will satisfy this community and hers.
> I think she needs help first and foremost
> Not forever, but at least until she's received help
This won't happen unless change happens. And if you think Emiru is that change (rather than Emiru breaking the ice), then we'll just have to sit on this train patiently then. 10 months since Emiru has entered the scene (has it really been that long... holy shit)... I've seen no progress. She's perhaps happier I guess! But the problem will always be the nonce.
> Are we talking about the same person?
Haha. I respect her quality of determination (not quitting her 'once passion'). And I think she has gone through a lot already - to some extent, bounced back better than before (in terms of her popularity). So yes, she does incur some aspects of individuality.
