I think strava itself takes your active time calories and adds some on top for total elapsed time, if we convert your watts and active time into joules we get the roughly 2900 kj and sauce converts to kcal with whatever value they use for body efficiency

a lot of the issues comes from commentary not really commentating enough on who's at the front, who's attacking and what their standings are. I've watched track live once and the in velodrome commentator did that and it was much clearer
