I am still yet to go on a road bike ride.
But I have become conscientious towards it, or in general in everything not only when I feel like it so:

> need to check and fasten all the bolts that need to be fastened
> got my torque wrench
> have to wait for 3/4 inch bits to arrive because I have only 1/2 and 1/4 inch ones
> only then can i sit on it
> then i will, ride to the car wash
> car wash! whoawhoawhoa
> clean the chain and drivertrain that was already cleaned before winter
> ride back, dry bike in the sun
> apply rohloff oil
> reindex anything that needs to be reindexed
> check brakes
> charge gombuder
> charge heart rate monitor
> inflate tires to target presh

Only then I will be ready to go.
