The PCO took this as an opportunity to raise its flag and was criticized by all the other parties and relevant figures of the left; however, the PCO's stance does not seem very different from the historical stance of the Marxist parties , although the PCO is Trotskyist; they took the opportunity to put themselves as opposition to the left of the rest, defending freedom of unrestricted expression (incompatible with bourgeois freedoms).
