that might describe your relativist frame of mind but it does not apply to me. where i live a chinese company is extending what should become our longest rail. in past decades the same would have been done by applying for the IMF credit in billions of USD, which inevitably would have been partly pilfered by corrupt politicians, partly misallocated through nepotistic tenders, pilfered again by the go-betweens between government regulators and corporate executives, partly repurposed to palliate whatever unrelated crisis or emergency, and so on and so forth. in the end, the work would be incomplete and by that time a new government would take over and blame all the problems on his predecessor, scrap the unfinished work and proceed to get another credit only to repeat the cycle and bankrupt us even more.
this way at least we can get the damn thing done so it can be better way for me already
