The part that pisses you off the most is that it's done by, supposedly, the smartest among us, with more money to play with than you'll ever see in your entire life.
And half of it isn't even theirs.

I mean would you actually put that outside the realm for some companies?  C'mon, you think some dirty players out there don't have "priority customers" who's info isn't slightly more secure than others?
Hackers themselves will literally write protection measures into their malware so it doesn't affect people with certain language packs installed, so they don't attack their own, if you think that doesn't happen at a corporate level...

Well, to be fair to them, it IS hard, and VERY expensive, and they don't recoup that loss.  Especially not from the perpetrators, who have nothing even liquidable to begin with.
It's easier to refund the payment through claims, notify the merchant for the payment, and then the merchant and the bank can claim both on taxes..  in the end everyone kinda walks away at least Okay.
