Merry Christmashu
After enjoying a proper dark Belgium ale during the First of Advent, we will today, on the second of December, try and enjoy a real nigger beer.
Today, we will be having TĂȘte De Mort X-mas, from the Belgium brewery Brasserie du Bocq.
The beer pours quite dark brown, leaving a foamy beige head, not unlike the one we saw yesterday.
Unlike the one from yesterday, this one has a more sweet scent that reminds you more of melted sugar than anything else.
It flavour, shouldn't come much as a surprise judging from the sweet scent. The taste very much resembles that of white-beer, a beer style where the fermentation process is halted when the desired amount of VOL, has been reached. This leaves plenty of sugar left in the wort, which is then bottled, giving a significant sweet flavour. After all, the beer still has plenty sugar left in it!
This little nigger, although it resembles the white-beer style, has a staggering 8.1% VOL, while still being ridiculously sweet.
If I had to compare this to something that most people of, I think it would very much resemble a discount cola with little fizziness left in it.
Definitely not a kind of beer I'd like to have again, but I'm certain there are plenty people out there with a sweet tooth, that would highly appreciate this sugarbomb.
