Merry Christmash

To something slightly lighter.
Today's beer is the Pére Noël, Xceptional Xmas Beer by Elon Musk Brasserie de Ranke.

The last two beer were both of the dark Belgium beer style, whereas this one, is of the lighter Belgium beer style, more commonly referred to as Blonde.

Smelling the ale, it does smell lighter, having no hints of roasted malts nor heavily seasoning. Instead, it gives off a scent of flowers, not unlike a dark lager.

Having a taste, it shows it's definitely more heavy on hops than the previous two, especially the sugarbomb from yesterday. Compared to that, this is very welcoming, giving a refreshing IPA-like aftertaste with hints of licorice, without it lasting uncomfortably long at the far back of your throat.

If you don't like very sweet ales, and prefers your beer a pretty amber and refreshingly bitter, this is a Christmas Ale for you.

Happy beer hunting, and merry Christmas
