Merry Christmash
And back to something light again, and something I wouldn't personally consider very Christmashy.
Today, we'll have La Mére Noël, from the brewery Huyghe.
Although it's called Mrs. Santa, this blonde beer is of the fruity variant.
When you pour it up, it leaves behind a great white head, and giving off a look that's incredibly fizzy. So fizzy it can even be caught on a phone camera.
When you smell it, it gives off plenty fruity notes. Of strawberry, plums and some citra. It reminds you far more of summer than Christmas.
When you taste it, its smell is also the flavour it gives off. The fizziness is definitely present, so sparkly it tickles your tongue, leaving a fruity explosion in your mouth.
A very good thing about this beer, is that it's not at all a sour beer. It really is just a Belgian Blonde seasoned with fruits, giving the same sweet flavours you can find in a European garden during summer.
If you like fruits, this is a beer that's worth a try, and I'm certain it'll be better during summer as well.
Just don't drink too many, as it is relatively heavy on alcohol, being 8.5%.
Happy holidays, both the ones you celebrate during summer, as well as Christmas during winter.
