Merry Christmash

A careful reader might recall there really being two different categories of Belgian ales, each having two sub categories.
Today, we'll be having the 12'th of December's Quadrupel, the stronger variant of the Dark Belgian ales.

Today's ale, is a 9.9% VOL Quadrupel from Rockability Brew, called Cruising the Cold.

Pouring it up, it sadly falls quite flat for a Belgian ale. No head whatsoever.
Thankfully, its smell has all the deep scents of dark malts that all quadrupels should have.

When tasting it, it combines both of these, giving it a rather.... flat taste. Other than being stale, it tastes is what you expect from just about any quadrupel, being strong with characteristics of burnt chocolate, coffee notes, some caramel and topped off with a slight hint of vanilla, probably due to it being a Christmas ale.
Minus the vanilla, which are often found in heavier-seasoned Christmas ales anyway, this one is really just a regular quadrupel, but stale.
Nothing much worthy to write home about.

Merry Christmas
