Gazprom was not to blame for the hike in gas prices:
- First of all it was due to the EU's own "green" faggotry: shutting down coal, fuel, and even nuclear plants
- Norway had delivery issues
- Euro zone economic activity is picking up after flu hysteria, driving demand
- Winter is coming: countries (including gas transit partners) are storing reserves
- NS2 certification is waiting for EU politics bullshit to run its course
- NS2 should be more profitable than the existing lines, plus it is in the interest of Russia to limit funding to the openly antagonistic Ukro government, so better if Gazprom does not sign new shipment deals with them. This is perfectly good self-interested choice, nobody can claim that Russia is not in her right to limit business with unfriendly and threatening would-be enemy governments
Also Russia does not have a monopoly on EU gas, what are you saying?
In another thread you posted links to The grauniad and Times of Moscow... are those you kind of sources? For some reason, magyar bernd often makes a points of qualifying mentions of RT but oddly not so much of other publications, as if they were not all dealing in the same business. It is jarring seeing Russians themselves quote western (or "westernist") pamphlets as if their word were authoritative
"Question more" ;^)

Asia (China, later maybe India) should probably be Russia main energy focus anyway: growing market, friendly relations, not pushing faggot degeneracy on you, not trying to fucking regime-change you (open EU goal, Parliament or Commission can't remember), etc
Of course EU (or Germany, really) is important too, but they are the ones making things difficult for everyone by e.g. inviting Poland to the NS2 certification knowing full well that they would stonewall it, or putting legal hurdles on the uses of the infrastructure
