If some kind of a immortality could be achieved with technology (think of any number of ideas sci-fi writers could come up with from cloning to preserving consciousness in computers, etc.), sure some/many people would disregard it, for various reasons. Would these people be considered as a danger to those who wanted to preserve themselves for eternity? Or at least a subset of them?
