Biden "put forward" a deal, and Israel "accepted" it. Essentially during this two months, both IDF and Hezbollah would withdrew from south Lebanon, creating a wider buffer zone where the Lebanese forces would occupy, with UN peacekeepers - remember there is a separate Lebanese army, not part of the Hezbollah. They would make this arrangement permanent.
I wonder if the Lebanese campaign of the IDF did not went as quick as they hoped. Ofc Hezbollah had to suffer losses enough to force them to accept this.
