Friday Trump meets Putin in Alaska. In theory, not yet clear if Putin will go or not, but for now everyone talks about it that he will. It is possible that Zelensky will be there, but Washington (specifically Vance I think) said he just doesn't fit into the dynamics, so he won't be allowed into the room.
The main topic will be ofc the peace, offers were made, some hail it and clap, some say last chance, I hear many doubts, I have that as well.
But no matter what happens here, what they'll really discuss is American-Russian relations. White House says Russia and trade with Russia is important for the US. They want to rebuild relations, and do great deals.
Huh, apparently for Europe Russian relations should be not just unimportant, but taboo, trade and deals especially.
What I see here is fucking Europe over from all angles by the US. US can buy cheap resources from Russia, but Europe can't. Europe can only buy expensive stuff from the US. Basically Europe was cornered into this position where she can't replenish herself, but the US will siphon out the wealth. I have a very bad feeling about this at the moment. Half well, third the population marched here enthusiastically, led by the mirage of defending Ukraine, democracy, sovereignty and Europe, and they live in a dreamworld where Europe is strong and competitive. They either think they are solving the problems the Draghi-report put forward last year, or they forgot about it already. They are investing in the US instead of Europe.
