Isn't it obvious? It's because whatever percentage of /ttg/ers (not prevalent here though I don't think so) is just straight up lusting after the fus they post, which means they want to insert themselves into the boyfriend place, or want to feel like they have a chance to date the fus. When you come at it at that angle you're obviously feeling slighted if she gets a boyfriend or shows any affection to males because you feel threatened.
I mean, personally I think it's both shrewd and better for you (or fu) to not announce the relationship online but also I'm the kind of person that has barely any pictures hanging around online so I'm what you'd call "privacy paranoid". Having your whole history of dating online is only good for you as long as this whole history is one person with which you've been married or something.
