I just feel like if it is among friends you get much less dead air and don't have to have a very strong GM to keep the game alive.
Like our GM is not super great, he's good enough but not like amazing, yet we would just have fun party banter or just banter when he was fumbling with stuff in the background.
Also there's no problem with any drama related to the board since there's inherent understanding between friends.

We didn't play that much, maybe someday we'll start another session but it's getting harder to do with everyone getting RL commitments. Life sucks.
> 5th edition, so it's kinda shit
It's the reason why we switched to pathfinder after first 2 sessions, 5e is easy, but it does suck for build diversity and RP through the build, where most of us are pretty autistic number-crunch oriented and we do like a bit more convoluted mechanics, maybe not just for the sake of them being convoluted but PF does make decent use of additional complexity.
It's also why I've played PF:Kingmaker and WotR, they might be also working on limited PF rules but just implementing this limited rules is much more fun for me than 5e, while when I will finally play BG3 it will have to do more heavy lifting with story.
