software devcucking makes way too much money for how saturated the trade is nowadays
in 10-20 years the prices will not be as lucrative as they are today because everyone and their mama went into IT
and the evidence behind this is the fact that every software dev makes bank but theres no prestige behind the job. you hear someone say "im a software dev" and you dont pog out a little, not in the same way that you would for someone who said they were a doctor, lawyer, scientist or shit like that
To some extent engineers have the same no-pog problem because they are in fact also very saturated, BUT, theyre spread out over so many different niches that it cancels out the paycheck debuff. (and I think they have already have somewhat of a wage debuff the last few decades in the sense that it hasnt been climbing as fast as it had been previously)
