> I feel like in the last 6 months everywhere online has started saying seed oils are literally the devil.
It's an American phenomenon (of amplifying and monopolizing internet messages).
TL;DR version is that a long time ago there were studies made on animal fats that were most probably of poor quality, which have monopolized the food industry in America. Because of that they switched pretty much all their oil additives to seed oils (particularly they have some mixes that are not that good).
Since food science is an incredibly hard to study and there's a shitton of people trying to grift off of diets there's now a counterculture to usage of seed oil.
In general, unless you're eating a whole lot of processed food or enjoy pouring copious amounts of oil onto everything, you don't have anything to worry about.
I could go in depth but it's mostly boring and half of the arguments from the seed oil bad side amounts to nothing more than schizo rambling anyway.
