I don't think any one of them wants a war with Russia.
Western Euro leaders aren't entirely their own masters, their regimes are all clients of the United States and there is a pressure from Washington that they have to do things. With the Biden admin, they were pressured into supporting Ukraine to some extent, so it can wage war against Russia (but can't defend herself entirely).
Now in the US faces were swapped in the White House, and there is a new voice there saying have to stop the war, have to make a peace deal, or at least a ceasefire which can be maintained as long as they want it (see: Korea).
In the White House they have a picture how Ukraine should look like when the deal is done. But they need to reach that point, until Putin says okay to that.
The US raised the voice that demands peace, which could be very easily achieved, if everyone stopped supporting Ukraine with everything. But this would collapse Ukraine, Moscow would take everything and that picture they imagined in the White House would go down the shitter.
So the war has to go on. But how to support Ukraine on, if the White House says this should stop? Here come the Western Euros in handy. They still have to be belligerent, enact new sanctions, send more money, weapons, and encouraging messages so the Ukrainians themselves don't just give up.
That's about it.

It is a possibility that in the end Moscow still takes everything if they manage to collapse the AFU. But maybe it will settle as they imagined in the White House. But that situation where they want it to be settled, is not necessarily the same what were presented in the "peace" offers (neither by EU and the US).
