Anons!

We want to ask your input on a matter and with it keep you involved navigating the site since it's a community effort.
As probably you know it, another shooting happened, this time in Halle, Germany, and maybe in the future others will happen. Our question is: should we (as a community, the staff, BOs, volunteers and users) let users repost acquired footage of the acts, or share links to it?
To make it more clear: we didn't, don't and won't assist for committing crimes and helping the attackers, their - or presumably their - posts still won't be tolerated. We are talking about discussing the events and the free flow of information.
If it's possible post your reasoning what should be done.

Thank you!

Hell naw man. Keep End clean. It's gonna bring as much schizos as possible if you let it happen. Which is literally what happened to 4chan and 8chan and why it got knocked down.

Don't make this site into another Kohl, please man.

Hell Kohl is down right now because of this shit happening today.

https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/kohlchan.net.html

Don't even consider doing it to this site. Site quality will absolutely plummet, glowies will throw their hands with joy over the unlimited access to spam they'll get and most of the oldfag users (read people who've been here since December 2016) will be disgusted with it and will promptly leave.

People want to post cringe false flag shit, go to hundreds of other IB available. Not here

Glowies will just plant evidence and take this site down. Don't be seduced by the clamor of the people that say otherwise. We've been getting raided for months. What do you think is going to happen?

Don't do it bro

> t. been here since site started

FUCK NO

You saw what happened to the other imageboards and websites which hosted previous videos and evidence of terrorist acts. If we just allow the videos to be posted, then we run the risk of losing the website, and before that causing some anons in different countries to be unable to visit this website, perhaps even illegal such as in the case of New Zealand. This website is more than just /pol/ and /news/. We have /ausneets/, /b/, /tech/, and a few others which want nothing to do with this.

You won't be able to be a hotpocket anymore, either. :^)
What's the point of having separate websites if they all end up having facebook/google style "community standards" where we can't even share links to footage of what happened instead of a news site's retelling?

As to the argument that glow in the darks will ruin the website, what stops them from doing that now?

As to the argument that the content is illegal in some countries I have one response: Winnie the Pooh, Tiananmen Square Massacre. Banned speech in a far more important country than New Zealand but still allowed here.

the schizos will come anyway, or like with kohl the schizo got associated with him because someone else posted some links to his shit there.

Having a site that lasts more than a few decades. Maybe think of the future of this site. As >>/10720/ said, there's lots of small communities in the boards here. No one wants to move again and all of us want to keep this site up. It's a clearnet site so there's also that

> As to the argument that glow in the darks will ruin the website, what stops them from doing that now?

Never humor them in anything and generally just ignore them. Call them out, report them, insult them. Make their job a lot harder. Don't engage in conversation with obvious malicious agents

> As to the argument that the content is illegal in some countries I have one response: Winnie the Pooh, Tiananmen Square Massacre.

lol that's the most extreme example ever. china's a completely different animal to most other countries

Also, as of today, Kohl is still down due to what happened

I lean toward freedom of speech as an ideal worth striving for. However, we don't live in an ideal world. In what passes for our flaky reality, freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. The freedom crusaders do no one any favors by openly inviting the powers that be to action. Running a supposed crusade by posting such contemporary violent content on Endchan is not striking a victory for freedom of speech. All it will accomplish is to strike down Endchan. The consequences will be paid, directly by the site owners and operators, indirectly by we, the users.

With all that is obscene, droll, meaningless, quasi-legal, innocuous, or occasionally useful, Endchan offers a fair bit of other content which should be preserved. The pragmatic approach is to keep what we may, and drop what endangers the rest. No one has to like it. Everyone has to live it, and most of us aren't here to fight a crusade.

If possible, allow linking to said content offsite. Said sites have the time, talent, and money to fight the good fight of cat and mouse with the authorities. If even offsite linking is too much, go ban happy, and may God be with you.

That is all I have to say on the matter. I turn now my thoughts to deeper, curvier, bouncier, more sublime issues.
Thread /bb/res/5150.html gives an error 404. Can it be restored and somehow avoid losing important posts in the future? If it cannot be restored, then delete it; the moderator cannot delete it.
 >>/10758/
Told Odili, thread will be restored, posts aren't lost.
It's something with the old lynx engine, hopefully with the upcoming update this problem will be solved forever. It is caused by editing posts, until then pls refrain from it if it's possible.

Hello.
Today somebody named "ecco" deleted fap thread in /rus/ board >>/rus/2392/ . This thread not contained child p. or other illegal content. It has been started a long time ago (about may 2019), and not broke the global rules, and rules of the /rus/ board.
He also deleted post with legal zoo porn content.
Our Anons think this is a negative impact.
We hope that he will not do this again.
We would like to hear your comments on this subject.

Yesterday someone spammed the boards and since we had look through boards to find these posts we did a general look around and cleanup too. The thread you are referring to was deleted in this cleanup by my fellow global (by ecco, my username is Shiban).
He said earlier the thread had lot of bestiality. The legality of "zoo porn" as you called it in the United States is regulated on a by state basis. Since we are talking distribution in some states it is legal, in some it isn't, others has no specific regulation but that doesn't mean a judge can't and won't punish it.
So while specifically it isn't in our global rules, it falls under the illegal content.
We had a similar case with /zoo/ here: >>/10810/
You will aslo find a map there (from Wikipedia) showing the legality in the different states.

I understand deleting the content upset the Anons. I can advice to post only drawn pornographic content in this genre.
Of course I notified ecco, maybe he will have more to add.

I appreciate you turned to us with the question. In the future we try to contact you first if something comes up.
 >>/10915/
ecco here,

Partially, it's my fault. I could've just removed the images from the OP and deleted the offending posts but I did not combine the two deletion options. Sorry I deleted the whole thread. One thing you must understand as Shiban had posted is that bestiality and disseminating it ultimately threatens the existence of endchan, same as other content that is illegal in the United States. If you see those things, bestiality, child pornography etc report it globally. Any BOs or volunteers reading this remember to use the scrub media option when deleting illegal content otherwise it will not be removed from the server.

Again I apologize to /rus/ for not handling the deletion correctly and nuking an old thread with a lot of posts but hopefully you understand the reasons as to why.
 >>/10917/
Oh shit. I've banned and deleted fucktons of disgusting CP spam posts in the past (they're also why a BO stepped down) but never selected "scrub media". I don't know where non scrubbed images are kept, but someone might want to look into it. Will do from now on.
Not sure where to put this and also not sure if it deserves having a thread created, sorry if I'm being a pain in the ass.

I keep getting a "Connection Failed" error whenever I try to post pictures. If I use a VPN it works perfectly though. I've reset my modem to see if that could be the issue and also tried different browsers but the problem persists.
