you claimed baudelaire was grumpy, had syphillis & thus his opinion is to be doubted or not to be taken too seriously. we were discussing the 'ad hominen' accusation, not nietzsches concrete philosophy. i was pointing out that just because a person lives a miserable life or hopelessly fails at fulfilling ones ideals it doesnt render the core proposition false or irrelevant.
nietzsche dreamd lofty dreams about the übermensch & the heroic archetypes of antiquity, while himself 'merely' being a powerless philosopher & writer.
baudelaire criticised the unstoppable march of time & was unable to stop it, just complained about the inevitable change of tides & became resentful.
