It consists of several areas connected in a maze-like fashion, similar to the Lost Woods in Ocarina of Time. Link must follow a certain path or he will get lost and find himself back at the entrance to the Woods. Koume, the person in charge for the Boat Cruise in the Swamp Tourist Center, is immobilized in one of the areas within the Woods of Mystery, as the result of the Skull Kid attacking her.[2] To find her, Link must follow a Monkey, who will lead the young hero to where Koume is. If Koume is not rescued by a certain point in the game, her sister Kotake sets out to find her, and Link can encounter Kotake in another area of the forest, which is also the location of a Mushroom that can be detected by the Mask of Scents. Once Link finds Koume, he must report back to Kotake about her sister's injuries.
