A few factors:

1) The rush of posters ended with the trumpie presidency being over
2) Most people that left 8/pol/ went to social media sites, the fediverse or other /pol/ boards. And most just stayed there
3) Most people visit sites with constant posting, otherwise they just lurk
4) In general, there are less people posting on imageboards nowadays than a few years ago. And that's the same for every imageboard nowadays.
