Republican Senators Tom Cotton and Mitch McConnell have accused the Biden administration of continuing to delay shipments of certain weapons to Israel. In a letter sent to the White House on Sept. 25, the senators wrote that Israel still has not received the Mk-84 bombs used by the IDF to destroy Hamas tunnels, Apache attack helicopters and heavy D9 bulldozers.
Israel asked for Apache helicopters back in December when the war in Gaza made them necessary, and now the need for new Apache helicopters has increased as the conflict with Hezbollah escalates.
Tom Cotton and Mitch McConnell also wrote that the IDF needs heavy D9 bulldozers, which, after installing additional armor on them, are used by the Israeli military to clear roads and clear territory.
The senators warn that the Biden administration’s continued delay in deliveries puts Israeli lives at risk, increases the likelihood of escalating the conflict and harms America’s national security interests.
