Or, do a less intensive thing: dag export/import across SSH (which is done in an ipfs-offline way). ("ipfs pin add ..." is too intensive sometimes.) I installed indicator-cpufreq (by Artem Popov), and after learning more, it looks like it is. This https://askubuntu.com/questions/324398/persistent-cpu-throttling says to run this:
> $ echo 2000000 >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq # as root for every CPU core
(doesn't persist after reboot)
