Last dry day has come and gone
colder air drifts across
So I write a seasonal song
about this beautiful night-hoss
Seen the moon framed by wandering stars
wrong continent for the eclipse but
worked 'til dawn despite pneumonia (or SARS?)
Soon to huddle to stay dry in any hut
I can't appreciate the beautiful night
because rainclouds hide the sky
Still, I know heaven will be alright
The clouds can only float so high.
Someday, Luna, I'll go diurnal again.
But I'm thanful for these many brilliant dawns.
And it will be the setting sun on which I pin
my heartfelt joy, even if all earth ponies are pawns.
