It just feels so weird too me as well. Both ends of it. If it all trolling it would seem way past its time, if not trolling it feels like these people were put in a time capsule and brought out. Either way it's an odd dynamic.

Weirdest thing is some of the channels there feel almost genuine. There is a couple that even joined a year before it seemed like lilponie1999 and lilponie1999 was saying there was nopony who liked mlp there in his rant video. Makes me wonder if the some of the rest are at real...

True. Though for me I find it a curiosity and have an interest in tracking it some just to see where it goes.

IDK, this is one of the ones that feels trollish, yet that was the only /pone/ related vid he uploaded and he wasn't like that small wave of mlp avatars.

That's my thoughts, sans a couple that joined way earlier and seemed to have normal conversation  though even they still feel weird 

Oh well. Pending any significant development I'm probably not going to mention them again. There are other smaller non pillars that are a bit more worthy of discussion.
