Here more and more cities decide to drop the firework show in favour of laser/lightshow, but there is no ban on private use sans normal safety restrictions. As a former dogowner, I generally approve of this notion.

It's all nice and cool, but gets boring after N'th time. For me, it doesn't make a difference if I see them in person or just on some screen on TV or internet.
