Interestedly enough a lot of that insanity was only made so rigid relatively recently. (It is that way for a lot of islamic countries but that is a rabbit hole to go down)

I rememeber reading one article 2 or 3 years ago making that point for the comics world. I'd say I'm mixed on that claim. some things thrive from some sex appeal, but some things clearly died from doing the same moves.

For me she is more of something that is something that was always in th background but never paid attention back in early fandom days but it's kind of nice to see her around. Feels like old times continuing partly in some way.

You win from playing in th background and recognizing the value of what you can do with limited resources, even if the victory is not big is what I would say.

Not everything is playing a chess game of two sides. Just before being a mindless fool, I would recommend studying the topic first or think twice before doing something you would regret. Even then, I have fucked up several times but the personal project ended up with fanfics....and those fails make you think, what´s next then? And that´s when you fix them.
Me only once that I can really recall from the top of my head  because I prefer to be silent in the background IRL often  , but I seen it happen to several people before, and man can it be awful. I suppose on a smaller scale I was the one who did it to a couple of people once, though once you start thinking you're hot stuff from tiny things you are setting yourself up for something sooner or later.
