Keep in mind most of that is pure political posturing and necessary noises are being made. They can have a hearing, make some noises, propose a bill, either it dies in committee or doesn't. If Senate votes on it, but is different than House version, it goes to Conference Committee to work out the discrepancies.
Poison pills can always be put in.
