Of course, I guess "myth" is the wrong word. People think in stories, so instead of saying "in this place and time, this happened" they encoded in the legends truth and knowledge, waiting for a civilization smart enough to understand it. 

There are also crazy truths encoded in the bible, if you know what to look for(lots of 3,6.9's like Tesla said, and Fibonacci numbers, procession of the equinoxes, anatomy) it's crazy! 

Reminds me of the Socrates quote:
I am the smartest man in the world, because I know only one thing, and that is that I know nothing.
