UAW leader Ashton, a GM director, charged in fraud, money laundering conspiracies

Detroit — Retired United Auto Workers Vice President Joe Ashton was charged in connection with a bribery and kickback scandal Wednesday, becoming the 13th and highest-ranking person charged in a years-long corruption investigation.
