Long 53-tweet thread on Stefan Halper's action over the past several decades in spying, starting with the 1980 Presidential election all the way to Trump's election. Halper's father-in-law worked with Bush I, and Halper worked with Rumsfled, Cheney, and Haig in the Nixon administration so Halper definitely had a network to draw from. The article also describeshow Halper ruined the reputation of a post-grad student at Cambridge by falsing claiming the woman (Svetlana Lokhova) had an affair with Gen Flynn and tried to destroy them both.
